About This Spot
Stepping into THAT BAR AT THE ARENA feels like finding a familiar rhythm amid the energy of downtown Jacksonville. It’s the kind of place where the buzz of game day excitement harmonizes with the easy-going chatter of regulars and newcomers alike. The pace here isn’t rushed; instead, it invites you to settle in, soak up the spirited atmosphere, and share in those small moments of connection that make a sports bar more than just a pit stop.
The space carries both a purpose and personality—a gathering spot where the anticipation of a big game lingers in the air, but there's also room for casual conversations and personal celebrations. The bartenders know their craft, pouring drinks with consistency and warmth, making it easy to unwind with a well-made cocktail or a cold beer. The crowd swings between energized and laid-back, drawn by the promise of good company and a solid selection of American bar fare.
The menu fits seamlessly into this scene, offering satisfying bites that complement the pace of a night spent watching the game or enjoying a lively event on the patio. Whether it's a Philly cheese steak crafted with just the right blend of tender ribeye and melty cheese, or simple, no-fuss items like a pulled pork sandwich or blackened fish tacos, the food rounds out the experience without ever feeling forced or overly complicated.
This is a place where people come to start their evenings, often lingering well past the first whistle or final play. The bartenders’ smiles and genuine attentiveness create a quietly welcoming vibe, encouraging you to stay for that extra round or that last shared story before heading out. It’s not about pretentiousness here—just the honest pleasure of being part of a crowd that’s come together for something communal and memorable, all within the warm, familiar walls of THAT BAR AT THE ARENA.

Pretty expensive. But the service is usually good.

For how busy it was there before the Shane Gillis show drink service was fast an "properly" made! The food ordering process could use a little work, they give you a table sign but there was no place to sit so we didn't get our food til later when went to the back to ask. but understand that was an exceptionally busy night

I liked this bar so much I really wanted to advise others, don't drink crappy drinks inside the arena hang at this place for an hour or two they free pour a nice cocktail for a respectable price $9 for Tito's if you drink vodka. Do your pregame here bartenders were excellent, just overall a good spot!

I was here for The Micro Wrestling event. The event was outdoors, in their patio area. The wrestling was enjoyable, even though the seating was a bit uncomfortable. Since it was outdoors smoking was allowed(in guessing), but it wasn't too overbearing. I would really like to see them raise the height of the speakers they were using, so that us guest's that paid extra to have seats don't get blasted by the sound!
